| LOVE LIFE 2 |

Journal, yesterday the latest album and single from hitomi arrived. I know I'm expecting both CDs upon the album's release last month but I combined the order with a recent released limited lower priced DVD. Let's kick off with the single WORLD! WIDE! LOVE! Supposedly this single was to be released back in January and originally it's a double a-sided single along with ココロの草原 (Kokoro No Sougen). It was up for pre-ordering until it was cancelled. The cover and photos in the CD single are stills from the PV.
Next is LOVE LIFE 2, a successor to 2000's LOVE LIFE. Like LOVE LIFE's original cover, LOVE LIFE 2 shows a completely naked and pregnant hitomi. Same as the single WORLD! WIDE! LOVE! this album was to be released in February but again cancelled. I ordered the CD+DVD pressing of the album which has an alternate cover. Since I pre-ordered this CD early, I received a free promotional LOVE LIFE 2 poster. The album contains 11 tracks, including the digital single Fight for Your Run☆ released in August last year, b-side ココロの草原 (Kokoro No Sougen) and チキュウニウマレテヨカッタ ver. of WORLD! WIDE! LOVE!

Lastly we have the 1967 British comedy film How I Won The War, starring Michael Crawford and John Lennon. The film is directed by Richard Lester, also responsible for Beatle movies: A Hard Day's Night and Help! How I Won The War is a parody of the war film genre and follows the misadventures of Lieutenant Goodbody and his troop. Speaking of, I began to take note on the other 60's films in which the other Beatles (particularly Paul McCartney and George Harrison) have contributed on its soundtrack such as The Family Way and Wonderwall, better put it on my wish list quick.

Journal, last Thursday and Friday two packages arrived from Tokyo. I’m glad I have the new album from Shiina Ringo called 三文ゴシップ (Sanmon Gossip), the latest beatnation Record album / soundtrack beatmania IIDX 16 EMPRESS and also the latest DVD from Kuroshitsuji.
I’m amazed that Shiina Ringo never let me down. Her latest album 三文ゴシップ (Sanmon Gossip) is a new offering of her musical reinvention and unparalleled songwriting. This is her fourth album as a solo artist; again 平成風俗 (Heisei Fuuzoku) is not counted since it is collaborated with Neko Saito. The new album contains 14 tracks: 12 new compositions, カリソメ乙女 (Karisome Otome) (DEATH JAZZ ver.) released physically for the first time, and a new arrangement of 丸の内サディスティック (Marunouchi Sadistic), used as background music ending for RINGO EXPO ’08. The track list is again symmetrical as with her previous solo albums (excluding 丸の内サディスティック (Marunouchi Sadistic) (EXPO Ver.) as bonus track). Once again Shiina Ringo incorporates song linking, similar in 加爾基 精液 栗ノ花 (Karuki Zamen Kuri No Hana). Her new single ありあまる富 (Arimaru Tomi) is excluded on the album. Lately the PV for 旬 (Shun) has been aired in Japan, along with ありあまる富 (Arimaru Tomi), these two will be included on the fourth instalment of 性的ヒーリング (Seiteki Healing) DVD coming by the end August.

Next on the list is beatmania IIDX 16 EMPRESS ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK. What I bought is the commercially available edition which is sold on retail outlets outside Konamistyle. Upon the announcement of the CD I was expecting that they would include exclusive CS songs from GOLD and DJ TROOPERS, unfortunately they used the remaining disc space with special tracks (long versions). Now I have to wait until the next soundtrack is released (beatmania IIDX 17 SIRIUS perhaps), and hopefully they would include those wonderful tracks. The soundtrack contains AC songs from EMPRESS, game sizes of selected tracks from the beatnation albums of L.E.D, Sota Fujimori and 上野圭市 (Ueno Keiichi), crossover songs from Pop N’ Music, and HOUSE NATION tracks from avex. Go Beyond!! and SOLITON BEAM make their second appearance for a IIDX soundtrack this time.

Lastly we have Kuroshitsuji VI. The sixth volume contains episodes 14 to 16: その執事、異能 (Sono Shitsuji, Inou), その執事、競争 (Sono Shitsuji, Kyousou) and その執事、孤城 (Sono Shitsuji, Kojou). This is the second part of the anime’s first season which introduces a new opening sequence (same opening theme but uses the second stanza and chorus) and second ending theme (Kalafina’s Lacrimosa). Volume six switches back to the DVD and drama CD combo and include Character Design for Animation Vol. 3 as an extra booklet. On the cover are Prince Soma and Agni.

Journal, my FedEx from Amazon Japan arrived yesterday containing the original double disc soundtrack for the beatmania 5th MIX game released in 29 March 2000. This is one of the early soundtrack by KONAMI being supported by Dancemania. I've been searching for this CD for quite some time now, since it's already out of print. I remember buying this soundtrack from HMV Japan, unfortunately they cancel it because it was in stopped production. Luckily, this week I saw Amazon Japan changed the product's status availability, and buying a brand new copy is better than pre-owned. Disc 1 features game size of the tracks used in the game and likewise disc 2, nonstop megamix.

Journal, hitomi's new album LOVE LIFE 2 was supposedly to be release this week's Wednesday, unfortunately it was postponed until the 24th (making my online orders to three on the same date). The full track list for the album have been revealed, eleven tracks in all. The new album includes the 2008 digital released single Fight for Your Run☆, album version of WORLD! WIDE! LOVE!, b-side ココロの草原 (Kokoro No Sogen) and other eight new tracks. I've pre-ordered the CD+DVD version, which has an alternate cover and DVD that includes two PVs: WORLD! WIDE! LOVE!, 探し続けてたもの (Sagashi Tsuduketeta Mono - featuring a very pregnant hitomi with llamas) and interviews.

The DVD release date and catalogue number of Kuroshitsuji Musical has been announced. The two disc set is scheduled to be released on 2 December. Ciel is played by Sakamoto Shougo, and Sebastian by Matsushita Yuya. Kuroshitsuji Musical ran between 28 May to 7 June at Tokyo Sunshine Theater in Ikebukuro. So far the last musical adaption of an anime series that I've watched was Hunter x Hunter, I'm really excited for this one though...

Journal, a very rainy week has passed and I had a hard time going to the office every day, avoiding heavy traffic. I don't like being late except if it's an emergency and I tend to keep being punctual at work.
Anyway, my sister bought something over Amazon Japan and it's an official 金色のコルダ (Kin'iro No Koruda) Encore artbook, companion to the PS2 game. She's a big fan of the anime series and she already collected a lot of stuff. To combat the packaging cost of Amazon Japan, I've included a single from thee michelle gun elephant. TMGE's fourth single titled カルチャー (Culture) is already out of print and good thing a brand new "one and only" stock is still available over Amazon Japan and we immediately purchase it along with the artbook. カルチャー (Culture) became the opening theme for TVKテレビ (Television Kanagawa) saku saku morning call program. The CD contains four tracks: カルチャー (Culture), ランドリー(Laundry), カーテン (Curtain) and the addictive CISCO～想い出のサンフランシスコ (She's gone).
This week I had readings on silent films and the impact it had for the whole history of cinema. I remember watching The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari on YouTube two years ago and thinking if this film is available on DVD. I've checked HMV Japan and I was right, there's a DVD release from IVC. The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari is a 1919 German expressionist silent film and directed by Robert Wiene. It is one of the earliest horror films and has influences on film noir. The DVD begins with an introduction from the late Japaneses film reviewer Yodogawa Choji. The film transfer is moderate (due to the age of the film itself) and features English intertiles with Japanese subtitles. The whole film runs for 67 minutes.
Next is Marcel Camus' Black Oprheus, winner of the Palme d'Or at the 1959 Cannes Film Festival. The film is an adaptation of Orpheus and Eurydice Greek story set in the late 50's Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and in time for the Carnival. The film is notable for the soundtrack by bossa nova legend Antonio Carlos Jobim which features the songs Manha de Carnaval and A felicidade. Shiina Ringo is a huge fan of bossa nova and this film as well and chose Manha de Carnaval to be covered for her two disc cover album 唄ひ手冥利 ～其ノ壱～ (Utaite Myouri Sono Ichi), renaming it as 黒いオルフェ (Kuroi Orufe) which is the Japanese translation of the film.
I've checked the site of IVC and they have a collection of releases starting with select silents from legend D.W. Griffith to Murnau (Kinokuniya is still the rightly distributor of most films by Murnau and Fritz Lang in Japan), early films of Cecille B. De Mille, they have the first Academy Award best picture film Wings starring Clara Bow, classic film noir, french new wave films also known as la nouvelle vague, silent documentary like Robert J. Flaherty's Nanook of the North and even surrealist film like Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dali collaboration Un Chien Andalou (which is hot on my wish list). I just love their list, that's all.

Journal, as promised my latest Kuroshitsuji DVD arrived last Thursday and also the new Shiina Ringo single and FREEDOM books arrived Friday.
Kuroshitsuji Vol. V contains episodes 11 to 13: その執事、如何様 (Sono Shitsuji, Ikayou), その執事、寂寥 (Sono Shitsuji, Sekiryou) and その執事、如何様 (Sono Shitsuji, Isourou). This time the limited edition includes a bonus DVD containing Tanaka's recap episode for the first half of the series aired before the 14th episode, textless モノクロのキス opening and I'm ALIVE! ending theme. The cover features Drocell and Ciel. The 16 page Butler's Guide to the Phantomhives talks about the background design used for the animation.
Next is Shiina Ringo's latest single title ありあまる富 (Ariamaru Tomi) used as the theme song for TBS drama スマイル (Smile) that began its broadcast last April. The second track / b-side is called SG ~Superficial Gossip~ with it's tempo clocking at around 180 plus BPM. The cover for the maxi single is very simple, showing Shiina Ringo's neck with a computer generated necklace. Ringo No Uta similarly shares the same concept for the single, in which Shiina Ringo shows some skin. At the back of the maxi single one can see Shiina Ringo's childhood operation scar.
Companion to the FREEDOM DVDs, next is FREEDOM SCENARIOS 0-3 and 4-7. Supposedly I'm going to buy these last year but due to some pre-orders it was left out and became mainstays on my wishlist. The books contains scripts or dialogues from the characters of the OVA aligned with scenes, somewhat resembling a comprehensive clean storyboard. Character design and background information are included as well, commentaries and also quotations from the Footmark Days novel. The books are housed in printed plastic slipcases.

Journal, nothing much for this week though since the rest of my online purchases will be dispatched by the last Wednesday of this month. I forgot to post regarding my Labour Day holiday early May, well we went to this nice resort up north since we don't live south. The Brady Bunch had splendid time actually relaxing, having fun, sipping fantastic fruit shakes, too bad I don't have pictures to show off and I'm very protective regarding our private lives (oops...), only my latest online acquisitions will do.
There's a new single from hitomi coming this 20th called WORLD! WIDE! LOVE! and also a new album by the 10th of June titled LOVE LIFE: 2. I've already pre-ordered both titles and have them shipped as one, the new album has two versions: normal edition and the usual CD+DVD limited edition, again I ordered the CD+DVD combo since HMV Japan is offering a special low price for online members just like me.

Journal, my first set of online order for May came yesterday at home. The package is already dispatched over the weekends but since Japan is celebrating Golden Week, shipping is delayed until Thursday. My latest acquisition are two Kuroshitsuji singles, a live EP from Paul McCartney and the new album from The Fireman.
First is the opening theme for Kuroshitsuji, シド / モノクロのキス. What I've got is the plain normal edition, both CD+DVD and special Ciel cover are out of print.

Journal, the latest DVD release of Kuroshitsuji arrived yesterday. This fourth installment was released last Wednesday and contains episodes 8 to 10: その執事、調教 (Sono Shitsuji, Choukyou), その執事、幻像 (Sono Shitsuji, Genzou) and その執事、氷上 (Sono Shitsuji, Hyoujou). The cover features Sebastian and Undertaker. The limited edition contains two booklets aside from the drama CD: Yana Toboso's Character Design For Animation Vol. 2 and Butler's Guide to the Phantomhives - Sound of Kuroshitsuji featuring interviews of Taku Iwasaki and Katsuyoshi Kobayashi.
Shiina Ringo will be releasing a new single titled ありあまる富 (Ariamaru Tomi) by 27 May same date as with her debut single 幸福論 (Koufukuron) released 11 years ago. The title track is also the theme song for the TV drama スマイル (Smile) airing on TBS this month. I've already listened to the single which is a TV size version and it's a laid back acoustic type track. Also, a new album which is set to release on 24 June have been announced weeks ago. 三文ゴシップ (Sanmon Gossip) is her new original 4th album as a solo artist after 加爾基 精液 栗ノ花 (Karuki Zamen Kuri No Hana), 平成風俗 (Heisei Fuuzoku) is not counted since it is a collaboration with Neko Saito and most songs are orchestral re-arrangement from her previous work. The track list for the album have already been revealed, 14 tracks all in all, 12 new except for カリソメ乙女 (Karisome Otome) and 丸の内サディスティック（EXPO ver.）(Marunouchi Sadistic). Journal, I had a great and relaxing holiday this past four days starting last Wednesday. We went up north with the Brady Bunch and stayed at a nice and rustic inn up in the mountains. The cool air and inviting climate indeed made me rejuvenated from stressful work. I was supposedly to update this journal in their nice dining area because there was free and fast Wi-Fi connection available. But what happened was that I’m very busy reading Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle which I began early last week. All we did was eat relax, shop and sight-see different places and spots. We all spent a splendid time indeed.
Moving on, last week my FedEx from Play-Asia arrived containing Bust A Move: Dance & Rhythm Action (Bust A Groove outside Japan) for the PSOne. I remember playing this game way back during high-school and it’s a very addicting music game next to Bemani. I bought for the first time is the limited edition bundled with a premium CD-ROM containing an interview from Hatsumi Morinaga (青空のknife singer) and game previews from Enix (now Square-Enix): AstroNoori, Star Ocean: The Second Story and Hello Charlie.
In other news, all 14 original UK albums from the Beatles (including Magical Mystery Tour and Past Masters) are going to be re-released internationally in newly digital remastered versions on 9 September 2009 coinciding with the game The Beatles: Rock Band. The release will now replace the old 1987 remasters. What’s exciting is that they’re going to release the first four albums this time in stereo since the 1987 remasters are in mono. The engineers at EMI took four years to complete the remastering, combining original analogue recording equipment and the latest recording technology. Good thing the release can be purchased individually or in a box set. Obviously the box set is way expensive, I’d rather choose individual album purchase instead, let’s say four to five albums per month. HMV Japan had already announced the releases with matching EMI Music Japan catalogue number, price yet to be determined but the CDs are ready for pre-ordering. Aside from the stereo box set they’re also going to release a mono box set comprising all the albums pressed for mono just for the Beatle completist.

Journal, it's a holiday Monday for me and I decided to stay at home instead of going to my other freelance job. I havn't experienced staying at home the whole day for the past several weeks but it is a splendid feeling to have it again. All I did for today was to check e-mails, update some stuffs online, browse and look for bargains at Amazon or HMV, simply relax and drink a cup of tea. I can't believe either that I'm going to the office once for this whole week since, I've filed a vacation leave on Wednesday and Thursday and Friday are holidays. To start things with before taking my early dinner, EMS package came in containing more CDs! Anyway my first order for April contains the latest DDR soundtrack, and two singles from Kuroshitsuji.
Let's start with the DDR soundtrack, supposedly I should have bought this soundtrack along with the PS2 game. A week before release I learned that they're going to release a commercially available version of the soundtrack. Since Konamistyle of Japan doesn't ship outside of the country, the only place to buy Konamistyle CDs is from Play-Asia. Unfortunately they sell these CDs more than the retail price, so the commercial CDs are my alternative. The soundtrack contains three discs: Disc 1 - DDR X, Disc 2 - DDR Furi Furi Party and Disc 3 - Nonstop Megamix. All licensed tracks, xmixes are removed and the rest are original Konami music.

Next is Sebastian Michaelis character single released last 24 December. In the anime adaptation of Kuroshitsuji, Sebastian is voiced by Daisuke Ono. The CD also includes a Sebastian sticker card.
Since I want to complete the opening and ending singles of Kuroshitsuji, I started first buying the second ending theme by Kalafina. This CD+DVD edition contains the title track Lacrimosa plus b-side Gloria, meanwhile the DVD contains the full PV of Lacrimosa and textless ending theme for Kuroshitsuji. As a bonus there is a collectible sticker card attached to the obi itself, which I carefully cut off.

Journal, last Friday my last package for March arrived at my secondary office. I don't know how many offices I have but I would say two would be the least. Likewise since Kuroshitsuji DVD releases comes every last week of each month, I now have volume three. The cover features Madam Red and Grell Stucliff, again housed in a beautifully designed slipcase. Volume three contains episodes 5 to 7: その執事、邂逅 (Sono Shitsuji, Kaikou), その執事、葬送 (Sono Shitsuji, Sousou) and その執事、遊興 (Sono Shitsuji, Yuokou). A Butler's Guide To The Phantomhives booklet talks about Grell Sutcliffe also called the Shinigami red butler. Also last week, the last Kuroshitsuji episode (#24) aired in Japan, and I'm quite disappointed the anime ended so soon. I know it's common now to have a 26 episode run anime in a single season, but it would be nice if they would prolong the story arc more. I know Ciel has a contract with Sebastian to take his soul in the end but they should have made the flow of the storyline more attractive and somehow cliffhangers just to get fans literally hook. The manga is still running though and somehow we will have to stick with its own storyline. But my obsession with the anime doesn't stop here yet and I've put on my HMV wishlist the opening and ending singles from the anime and not to mention a character single as well. There's also a character guide and black record book of Kuroshitsuji available for ordering.
I've just finished another book of the Beatles. This time it's Jonathan Gould's Can't Buy Me Love. Based on my reading, what sets this book unique from the hundreds published about the fab four is that this was made with great research, time and how the author meticulously able to describe each track as if the book is really singing. Aside from the usual story of how the Beatles got together up to the breakup, the author injects significant events during the career of the Beatles like the UK government during the 60's, Kennedy's assassination, influence of drugs among the youth, fashion, and so on. I highly recommend this book if you want additional facts during the career of the Beatles and some brief but detailed description of their music.

Journal, last Tuesday my package from Tokyo arrived containing the latest DVD from Shiina Ringo and second English album from Utada. Let’s start with Ringo Expo 08 DVD. Since I pre-ordered the DVD weeks before the release, as usual I got it housed in a limited edition white box with the Ringo eye design on the front. After watching the DVD, I think this is Shiina Ringo’s tour de force performance as a solo artist and the energy she’s giving out during the whole concert is very different. Her collaboration again with Neko Saito indeed sets this particular live performance a very memorable one. The outfit she wore during the set is unique as well, during the first song she wore this avant garde inspired sleeveless white gown and a lightweight web covered antler headdress reminiscent of Bjork’s taste for performing live. She also started the set with a long straight hair (obviously a wig) then halfway through we can see Shiina Ringo’s hair becomes shorter. Another highlight of the show was showcasing the Ringo Expo Memorial Dancing Team comprising of the Idevian Crew (responsible for the choreography of OSCA) and Koenji Awa Odori Shinkou Kyoukai specializing on the traditional awa dancing. Aside from Neko Saito’s orchestra which is named Ringo Expo Memorial Orchstra, the backing band for Shiina Ringo is different this time except for Seiji Kameda as the bass player, they are: Yukio Nagoshi, electric guitar; Noriyasu Kawamura, drums; Elton Nagata, piano; Fumio Yanagisawa, electric & acoustic guitar; Mataro Misawa, percussion; and Nobuhiko Nakayama, music sequencer. It’s a great DVD; I definitely recommend this to all hardcore Shiina Ringo fan. If weren’t able to make it last November for her 10th year anniversary concert, here’s your chance to finally watch it at the comforts of your home.
Next is Utada’s second English album This Is The One. Released last Saturday, the album contains ten tracks plus two bonus remixes of Come Back To Me. She wrote and made demos for this album while completing HEART STATION during 2007. Utada collaborated with Stargate and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart to produce some of the tracks.

According to Utada she wanted to make this album sound mainstream. Well all of the tracks from the album are New RnB, and to be honest I’m not such a big fan of the genre. I’m quite shock that Utada made some cheesy songs in which she’s not accustomed of writing before. I know in America sex sells let’s face it, in music, fashion, advertisement everywhere just to get a piece of attention. I’m not disappointed with the album but at least Utada should have taken her originality to a certain level, nevermind mainstream.
Recently I bought a pre-owned book from a bookstore near to our office. To my surprise I managed to get hold on Bette Davis second (currently out of print) autobiography titled This 'N That. A month ago there was an uploaded Larry King Live Bette Davis episode in which this was her last appearance in the program and also to promote her latest book. The second autobiography tackles Bette Davis' career during the 60's, 70's and 80's. The first few chapters deals with her life diagnosed with cancer and she underwent mastectomy. There is also a chapter on Kath (her secretary at that time) that deals on her perspective on Bette Davis. Throughout the book she talks about her renewed career on television and films, Hollywood canteen, marriage and kids. It's her passion to act professionally amidst her age. The book closes with letters against B.D. Hyman's trying hard expose Mother's Keeper.

Journal, finally my VOGUE HOMMES JAPAN issue number 2 arrived via FedEx yesterday. I never expected the size of an A4 like this big, good thing I have my copy. I know I've missed the first issue (TOKYO WAVE) and I can't order pre-owned copies of issue 1 from different sellers on Amazon Japan because obviously they won't ship outside of the country. Recently I've e-mailed someone in Singapore that sells Japanese fashion magazines online, she told me that the first issue is already out of print but she'll try to get hold of it if there are remaining copies and get back to me sometime. Anyway, on this second issue the theme focuses on the Americans, fashion that resembles American culture like sports (American football), tribal (American Indians), classic Western looks or the Golden Age of Hollywood etc. This issue also features interviews with Kanye West & Pharrell Williams (although I'm not a big fan), Hedi Slimane's Goes West fashion story, Raf Simons' Art List (which includes art installation and surreal paintings), Jewelry Extravaganza featuring drama and film actor Shota Matsuda. I'm not going to post more pictures and I suggest you get your copy as well before it goes out of print any time soon.

Journal, last Friday my limited edition second DVD of Kuroshitsuji just arrived at the office. The set again, contains one drama CD and one DVD, housed in a well designed slipcase. This time the DVD contains three episodes: 02 - その執事、最強 (Sono Shitsuji, Saikyou), 03 その執事、万能 (Sono Shitsuji, Bannou) and 04 その執事、酔狂 (Sono Shitsuji, Suikyou). There is only one booklet contained in the set and it is A Butler's Guide To The Phantomhives which deals about the four seasons of aristocrat during the Victorian era.

Journal, things are getting busier and busier everytime, and since I balance two jobs, I realize it's not actually easy. Good thing I have this so called time management and at least I can still do some leisurable things. During this week I was able to squeeze one and half hour of video gaming everyday after work. I'm still in the middle of completing Tomb Raider Underworld and for me it's such a fantastic game, amidst of some negative reviews roaming around gaming forums.
I just love the Spring/Summer collection from SISLEY. Color keys from this coming seasons are cream, beige and all light toned earthy colors. Great ad campaign as well photograhed by Camilla Akrans.

Journal, my EMS arrived today containing my first PS3/Blu-Ray game, it's Tomb Raider Underworld. The US/UK version is already been released last year but I prefer the Japanese version which came out last month. I bought this for JPY 6,120 or about USD 66. There is also a PS2 version of the game coming out in a few weeks but in my opinion why downgrade to PS2 when you can play the whole game in pristine high definitiion. The story of Underworld resumes after Legend left off. The whole gaming environment has a big difference from the previous series and it has a blending system in which Lara interacts dynamically with the surrounding. I'm going to play Underworld tonight and also tomorrow after my day's commitments.
Last week my brother gave me this from a gashapon egg dispenser...
It's Kuroshitsuji's Ciel and Sebastian cell phone strap, and I can't wait for the second DVD release by the end of this month.

Journal, last Saturday while I'm on an important conference, my latest DDR game arrived. Supposedly I could have my hands on it by Friday but when I tracked it down online, it was still inside FedEx's sorting facility across town. Dance Dance Revolution X is the latest title in Bemani's dance simulation series and this marks DDR's 10th year released game for the PS2. I don't know if Konami will still be releasing the next DDR title on the PS2, since a lot of their titles are now migrating either on the Wii or PS3, but we'll soon find out. DDR X was officially released last Thursday, and I just bought the game only. Supposedly my package includes the official soundtrack for DDR X and Furu Furu Party (Wii), but I canceled it because they will be releasing a commercially available CD by March and it's cheaper than the Konamistyle version (in Play-Asia), and also I can't afford at this time the other editions which includes an original DDR USB and other goodies. DDR X is actually first released in the US last year and this is the Japanese counterpart. New in DDR X is the ability to transfer data (like edit steps) using a USB between the AC and CS versions. It also has enhanced graphics, great Dolby Pro Logic II audio, and presented in 16:9 aspect ratio just like beatmania IIDX. This game also introduces Shock Arrows, in which they are lighting arrows and must be avoided by not stepping on them. The game contains around 60 songs and some can be unlocked using Street Master Mode and clearing each of the character's episodes. Some old licensed tracks are making a comeback like SMile.dk's Butterfly and Boys, Me & My's Dub-I-Dub and S&K's Get Up 'N Move but all are in new DDR X edit form (songs and steps). I have mixed reception with the game, the graphics are quite good, the song list varies but since this is the JP version they've included great lincenses from BREAKERZ and Nana Mizuki. They should have included more crossovers, more tracks from beatmania IIDX GOLD DJ TROOPERS, or some songs from beatnation Records, they shouldn't have remove the shop system on this game but unlocking songs and stuff is pretty much quick this time. Not the best DDR release so far but still a great addition.

Journal, while I'm at the office my package from Tokyo arrived containing three Kuroshitsuji mangas: volume IV, V and the just released VI. I'm updated with the chapters and so far I've read the 29th chapter from Monthly GFantasy (月刊Gファンタジー) released couple of days ago (soon to be included in volume VII).
